AML Screening
Screen individuals and entities against global risk databases
Datakeen includes built-in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) screening capabilities that automatically check individuals and entities against global risk databases. Screening runs automatically on identity data collected during journey sessions.
How it works
When a user completes a journey that includes identity verification, Datakeen automatically screens the collected identity data (name, date of birth, nationality) against multiple risk databases:
| Category | What is checked |
|---|---|
| PEP | Politically Exposed Persons β individuals holding or having held prominent public functions |
| Sanctions | International sanctions lists β EU, UN, OFAC, and other global sanctions programmes |
| Adverse Media | Negative press coverage β articles linking individuals to financial crime, fraud, corruption, or other risk indicators |
Viewing screening results
Screening results are available in the Screening AML tab of any completed session in the back office.
Navigate to Analysis β By session, open a session, and click the Screening AML tab.
Each category shows:
- The number of matches found
- A relevance score for each match
- The source of the match (which database or publication)
A green result across all categories means no matches were found. Any flag should be reviewed manually before approving the session.
When screening runs
AML screening is triggered automatically when:
- A journey session is completed that includes an Identity Information or Identity Document Check step
- Sufficient identity data is available (at minimum, a name)
Screening results are available within seconds of the session being completed.
